The use of medical imaging to support and enhance patient care is growing exponentially. Medical imaging no longer occurs solely in radiology and cardiology. Point-of-care imaging now occurs in nearly every corner of the hospital — from the emergency department to specialty departments such as surgery, endoscopy, dermatology and ophthalmology — and the number of images captured in these departments is growing dramatically.
