While the number of medical images captured at the point of care continues to grow dramatically across healthcare organizations, those images rarely find their way into the health system’s core medical imaging archive.
Instead, those images become trapped in silos within the emergency department, dermatology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology and others. Because these images are inaccessible from the electronic medical record (EMR) or other core system, clinicians cannot use them to make impactful care decisions.
