VGZ

VGZ, one of the largest health insurance companies in the Netherlands with 22% of the market and 4.1 million members, undertook a digital transformation journey with Hyland's OnBase solution to address challenges in document archiving and access.

VGZ faced challenges particularly in handling the surge of activities during the annual policy renewal period between November and January. The existing architecture was costly, complex, and not future proof. Synchronization issues arose between internal and external environments.

VGZ aimed for full digitalization, cloud migration, and a fast, trustworthy, and accessible environment for both customers and employees. The solution needed to accommodate over 2 million customers accessing documents via apps and portals.

VGZ followed a traditional approach, creating a long list, then a shortlist, and requesting demonstrations and proof of concepts. Docspro, with Hyland's OnBase, emerged as the preferred solution due to its performance and suitability for VGZ's specific business needs.

The migration project involved moving 175 million documents from their legacy system to OnBase in the cloud. Currently, OnBase archives about 227 million documents, with a yearly growth rate of 25 million.

VGZ's mission to keep healthcare accessible and affordable aligns with their use of OnBase to ensure documents are healthy, accessible, affordable, and secure. VGZ sees a promising future with Hyland's solutions and emphasizes the importance of communication and collaboration between business partners and Hyland.
