Hyland celebrates 20th anniversary of Hyland Cloud, offering customers supreme scalability, seamless integrations with core systems and more
Customers benefit from Hyland experts managing technical and administrative tasks, while enjoying Cloud’s security and disaster recovery capabilities
Hyland, the leading global provider of intelligent content solutions, celebrates 20 years of the Hyland Cloud in 2024, marking two decades of delivering to Cloud customers the scalability, integrations and seamless experience they seek in a Cloud partner.
Hyland Cloud customers enjoy Hyland’s intelligent content solutions that can scale quickly and meet constantly evolving security and compliance requirements. Hyland’s team of experts allows its Cloud customers to focus on their business and leave technical upkeep to Hyland, whose cloud averages a 99.99% uptime.
“We continue to innovate now and with our future roadmaps to ensure Hyland Cloud enables our customers’ own innovation and growth,” said Will Milewski, Hyland’s senior vice president of cloud platform engineering. “For two decades, Hyland Cloud has provided the scalability, security and disaster recovery to exceed our customers’ expectations, and we’re eager to support them in the future, specifically with the cloud-native innovation driven through Hyland Experience.”
The University of Utah, a leading public research institution with more than 105 undergraduate programs 90 grad programs, has been a Hyland Cloud customer since 2016. Its enrollment tops 35,000 students, which results in incredible amounts of data: It stores 11 million documents, totaling 13 terabytes of information, in its instance of Hyland’s OnBase platform in the Hyland Cloud.
Thousands of Utah employees throughout the school system use OnBase in the Hyland Cloud, and its integration with Utah’s student information system (SIS) is crucial to a seamless experience for those users. Deploying OnBase in the cloud, and the resulting expertise Hyland’s team provides, saves the school from needing a large roster of IT workers and system administrators, while Hyland’s team also handles system backup and disaster recovery.
Scalability, too, is key as enrollment grows, and Utah representatives point to the ease of upgrades – given a short window of downtime for a university -- as another benefit for their teams of users.
American National Bank of Texas has been serving customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for nearly 150 years, and implemented OnBase in the Hyland Cloud to help the company drive ongoing solution development and integrate with its core system, which already had transitioned to a vendor-hosted solution.
Among the biggest advantages the Hyland Cloud provides the company is eliminating its need to maintain servers, backup servers and other technology resources, and cost savings over an on-premises platform. The bank uses OnBase in the Hyland Cloud to automate business processes, securely manage documents, solve business problems and empower employees to focus on customer service. It used OnBase’s scan, store and retrieve capabilities to digitize nearly 3 million documents from the bank’s past 15 years, all hosted in the Hyland Cloud.
Western Nevada College, meanwhile, has deployed its OnBase instance in the Hyland Cloud since 2011, and is using OnBase to meet a demand from its president to create a simple, streamlined, mobile-friendly, one-page application for admission. Feedback from applicants has been positive, as it was designed to reduce friction among applicants; by contrast, other applications can number 15 pages.
Early returns show the difference: Application counts have increased 400 percent, to nearly 7,500 applications per year. Western Nevada officials, like those at Utah, rave about OnBase’s integration with the school’s SIS, and that infrastructure needs are taken care of by Hyland’s experts. For on-premises applications, for example, Western Nevada would need a database administrator, a network engineer and server infrastructure. The Hyland Cloud handles all those needs in one place.
“Time is our most valuable asset we have, and from a return-on-investment perspective, we are saving money by not spending time on those pieces,” said Troy Wadsworth, Western Nevada’s co-director of IT. “Our team is able to focus on building the product and not worrying about the idiosyncrasies of managing the infrastructure.”
